Bezi at GDC

Submission to Bezi Mega Jam - Fan Art Track
Size: 2016×1512px (4:3)
Artist: Christine (datloaf)

Description

GDC attendees gather around Bezi's booth, enthralled as the virtual Bezi ghost hands a bug it has extracted to its 3D counterpart, while Bezi team members and other attendees converse in the background.

Interpretation

I based the artwork off of the photo of Bezi's booth at GDC 2026. I really liked the framing and structure of the photo—especially the beams as I felt they give a sense of grandeur that one feels in a large convention center—so I recreated the general background using point perspective.

I wanted to incorporate GDC theme colors from its 2026 rebrand, so I used vibrant red as well as lilac and purple, contrasting the Bezi theme colors. I think the 3rd screenshot highlights this contrast best with hot pink as a mix between GDC colors red and magenta, whereas the 1st screenshot most accurately encapsulates the vibes of GDC, with various clashing colors and conversations happening concurrently.

Two such conversations are shown between members of Bezi's team, Kevin and Macy, and other attendees, inspired by @bezihq Instagram posts.

Notes:

• I spent entirely too long on this (40 hours on ibis Paint X and more on other software—yes, I'm slow and overly meticulous)
  • process video takes over 30 minutes to download because of this
• 3rd screenshot is my favorite variation as it's very striking and highlights Bezi
• I found the names of Bezi team members through Discord and Youtube
• line art is provided if anyone wants to recolor
• I did not use AI to write nor draw this
